FOUNTAIN TROUBLESHOOTING
 
WARNING
Turn off all electrical power before servicing your fountain unit.
 

SYMPTOM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

CORRECTIVE ACTION

The unit will not run.
No electrical power.
 
Check power source.
 
Check circuit breakers or fuses and/or replace if necessary.
 
GFCI device has tripped.
 
Reset and test GFCI.
 
 
GFCI continues to trip after resetting.
 
Check cables in the water for cuts or animal damage.
 
 
If no damage is found it is a possible seal failure. Use maintenance kit consisting of seal assembly, o-rings and oil.
 
Contact a certified electrician.
 
Bad Timer
(for units with timer control panels)
Contact a certified electrician.
 
 
 

SYMPTOM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

CORRECTIVE ACTION

The spray pattern is very erratic.
 
Propeller is loose or missing
 
 
Tighten or replace proper assembly.
 
 
Intake screen is plugged.
 
Clean and reinstall.
 
Nozzle is clogged.
 
Clean and reinstall.
 
Low Voltage
 
 
Contact a qualified electrician to check proper voltage and correct.
 
Float is sinking. Readjust the float.
Debris is in the propeller/diffuser assembly.
 
Clean and confirm that the intake screen is properly installed.
 
 
SYMPTOM

The unit starts and stops by itself.
 
 
Oil level is low.
A. Leak in seal area.
 
A. Maintenance
 
B. Damage to the wire harness.
 
B. The damaged wire harness needs to be replaced.
