ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Slide the float onto the float tube until it bottoms against the float tube brackets. See FIGURE 3 for the correct float position. Inverting the float will adversely affect performance.
2. Install the two upper socket head cap screws. These are located closest to the grooved end of the discharge tube.
3. Slide the float up until the upper socket head cap screws are seated in the slots of the float cavity.
4. Maintain float position while inserting the lower socket head cap screws. This will hold the pump assembly unit and float tube in position.
5. To install nozzle (if applicable) make sure the thumbscrews are backed out far enough to clear the float tube. Liberally apply grease (provided) to the inside of the nozzle ring and around the o-ring (provided) on the float tube. Slide the open end of the nozzle over the float tube using a twisting and sliding motion until the nozzle plate contacts the float tube. Tighten the thumbscrews into the groove on the float tube. Check that the nozzle is secure by pulling and twisting the nozzle; you should not be able to move the nozzle with your hand.
6. Gently flex open the intake screen far enough to fit around the float tube. NOTE: The screen is notched at the bends of one end only. This end sits in the groove of the power unit. Place the bolt through the hole on the screen flangesand secure with the stainless steel nut that is provided.
CAUTION
- Do not operate without suction screen installed.
7. Before anchoring, test the unit for rotation (counter-clockwise). Briefly energize the motor for 20 seconds or less and listen for any unusual noises. The unit should run smoothly and quietly.
